2026. május 21-én (csütörtökön) 17 órakor közgyűlést tart.

A Közgyűlés helye:
Óbudai Egyetem

Elnöki beszámoló a 2025. évi tevékenységről - a beszámoló elfogadása
Az elmúlt év pénzügyi beszámolójának, valamint az Egyesület 2026-2027. évi költségvetésének az elfogadása

A Közgyűlésre ezennel meghívom.

A napirendi pontok fontosságára való tekintettel személyes részvételére számítok. Az Egyesületi törvény alapján az egyesületi jogok csak személyesen gyakorolhatók, meghatalmazott útján az Egyesületi közgyűlésen a tagok nem képviseltethetik magukat.

Az alapszabályunk értelmében az elektronikus úton megküldött meghívó teljes (postai) értékű, amennyiben a címzett visszaigazolja annak megnyitását/átvételét, amelyet kérek minden tagunk részéről megtenni.

Amennyiben a tagság 50%-a ebben a megjelölt időpontban nem tudna megjelenni, akkor az Egyesületi közgyűlést változatlan napirendi pontokkal ugyancsak 2026. május 21. napján 17 óra 30 perckor, változatlan helyszínen fogjuk megtartani. A megismételt közgyűlés az Egyesületi Alapszabály 6.3. pontja alapján a megjelentek létszámára tekintet nélkül határozatképes.

A fentiek alapján az Egyesületi Közgyűlésről való esetleges távolmaradás következménye, hogy a megismételt közgyűlésen a meg nem jelentek távollétében a jelenlévő tagok hozzák meg a napirendi pontokban felsorolt döntéseket.

Egyesületünk működőképességének fenntartása közös érdekünk, ezért személyes megjelenését tisztelettel kérem és elvárom.

Speaker:
Prof. Dr. jur. DDr. h. c. Gábor Hamza, professor of law at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), full member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Fulbrighter, and internationally renowned scholar of Roman law, comparative law, legal history and constitutional law. Prof. Hamza has held visiting professorships and delivered lectures at numerous leading universities in Europe and the United States, and is widely recognized for his contributions to the historical and comparative analysis of legal systems. His work places particular emphasis on the development of constitutional structures and the enduring influence of Roman law traditions on modern legal orders. His extensive body of scholarship includes influential works on the evolution of the American constitutional system and its broader legal and political implications.

Topic of the talk:
The Origins of the United States Constitution and Its Lessons for Contemporary Governance

The lecture will provide a historically grounded and analytically rich overview of the intellectual, legal, and political foundations of the United States Constitution. Prof. Hamza will explore the European antecedents of American constitutionalism, including the influence of classical and Enlightenment thought, as well as the structural innovations introduced by the Founding Fathers. Particular attention will be devoted to the system of checks and balances, federalism, and the protection of fundamental rights, alongside their relevance for contemporary state governance and constitutional interpretation. The presentation will also reflect on the enduring global significance of the American constitutional model in comparative legal perspective.

The European Network of American Alumni Associations, Hungarian Fulbright Association Hungarian Fulbright Alumni Association and the German Fulbright Alumni Association are pleased to invite you to a joint Luxembourg Study Trip from 22-25 April 2026.

While Brussels is often perceived as the political centre of Europe, Luxembourg hosts some of the most important judicial and financial institutions of the European Union. This four-day study visit offers participants the opportunity to engage directly with leading representatives of key EU bodies and to gain deeper insight into the institutional architecture of the Union.

Programme highlights include:
- European Public Prosecutors Office & European Investment Bank: Exploring the legal and financial frameworks of the European Union.
- Court of Justice of the European Union: A high-level meeting with President Koen Lenaerts, Judge Zoltán Csehi, and Judge Tihamér Tóth.
- Diplomatic Briefings: Visits to the German and Hungarian Embassies.
- Innovation & Statistics: Sessions with Eurostat and the European Commission (DG CNECT).
